Essential Qualifications

For the post of Professor

 

An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned /allied /relevant discipline with published work of high standard, actively engaged in research.

A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university / college and / or experience of research at University / national level institutions / industries.

Proven ability to guide research.

Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process.

A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the Regulation UGC Regulation, 2010. [See 2(d)].

OR

An outstanding scholar or professional with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to knowledge in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline as evident from his/her credentials.

For the post of Assistant Professor

Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject.

National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification conducted by the UGC (CSIR) or similar test accredited by the UGC like NET / SLET. However,

(a) Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or its equivalent from universities outside India shall be exempted from the requirement.

(b) NET / SLET / SET shall also not be required for such Masters programme in disciplines for which NET / SLET / SET is not conducted.
